McKeesport, Sept. 19, 2018 – State Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland) and Rep. Austin Davis (D-Allegheny) will host a Senior Wellness and Safety Expo in McKeesport on Jueves, Sept. 27.
The Expo will be held at the McKeesport Palisades at 100 Fifth Avenue in McKeesport. The event will open at 10:30 a.m. and close at 1:00 p.m.
“Helping seniors in the community connect with services and benefits that assist them is a top priority,” Brewster said. “By hosting events such as this we are able to increase awareness and provide access to many community services that improve the well-being of Pennsylvania seniors.”
“This event will highlight community services, opportunities, and assistance for seniors,” Davis said. “We encourage seniors and their families to attend the expo for the chance to discuss and find more information on a variety of programs available in the community.”
Services and organizations at the expo will include offering free flu shots, available without proof of insurance, and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Outreach Unit to connect veterans with available services.

McKeesport – Sept. 21, 2017 – State Sen. Jim Brewster has scheduled his Senior Wellness and Safety Expo for Jueves, Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McKeesport Palisades, 100 Fifth Avenue in McKeesport.
“The senior expo is an excellent opportunity for seniors from my district to access services and receive assistance,” Brewster said. “We have had great success in offering help for seniors.”
Brewster said that free flu shots and health screenings will be available. The Veterans’ Outreach Mobile Unit will also be on-site to aid veterans and their families.
“I look forward to hosting the senior expo and welcoming all who join us on Septiembre 28 at the Palisades in McKeesport,” Brewster said.

Free health care screenings available
McKeesport – Sept. 30, 2014 – A senior expo featuring free health screenings, services and the distribution of health-related materials is set for Viernes, Octubre 3rd from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the McKeesport Palisades 100 Fifth Avenue in McKeesport, state Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland) announced today.
“All seniors are invited to this event to access free health screenings and tests,” Brewster said. “Seniors will also have the opportunity to ask questions and obtain information from various state, local, county, private health and senior-related agencies.”
Some of the screenings and services available at the Senior Expo will be:
- Flu shots (Free with Medicare B. Bring Medicare Card and Forbes Hospital will bill your Medicare carrier. Non-Medicare patients should be prepared to pay a $25 fee at the time of vaccination)
- Hearing Screenings via the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf Mobile Diagnostic Unit
- Thermography Spinal Screenings
- PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Mobile Veterans Services Unit
- Osteoporosis Screening and Vision Screening by Mon Valley Providers Council
- Blood pressure screenings
- Massage Therapy
In putting the Senior Expo together, Brewster teamed up with Forbes Hospital and Highmark.
“These free events are an opportunity for seniors to get some screenings, obtain information on health issues and ask questions,” Brewster said. “I hope plenty of seniors join us for the event.”
Brewster has held other Senior Expos and town meetings throughout his senate district for the last several years.

McKeesport – Marzo 25, 2014 – State Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland) today reminded area residents that he is holding a senior expo in New Kensington this Jueves, Marzo 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Sons of Italy club.
The Sons of Italy club is located at 1010 Fifth Avenue. The services and screenings that will be available at the expo include:
- Flu and pneumonia shots;
- Cholesterol and glucose testing;
- Heel scan screenings for osteoporosis;
- Blood pressure screenings;
- Height and weight measurements;
- Balance Screening, assessment and grip strength testing;
- Take home colon cancer screening tests will be provided.
Brewster is hosting the senior expo along with Allegheny Valley Hospital, which is part of the Allegheny Health Network.
“Any senior in the area can come to the expo to receive services, screenings and information,” Brewster said. “I encourage seniors to attend and look forward to meeting local residents who come to the expo.”
