Brewster’s Work on Behalf of Children and Families Recognized by Auberle

McKeesport – April 1, 2014 – State Sen. Jim Brewster said today that he was “honored” to be recognized by Auberle for his work benefitting children and families in the Mon Valley.

Officials at Auberle recognized Brewster as a Community Partner at their March 31 banquet.

“I am honored to be recognized as a Community Partner by Auberle,” Brewster said. “The work that is done at that facility aids at-risk children and families and the home is an important asset for our entire region.”

The McKeesport lawmaker was recognized for partnering with facility officials to improve the quality of service and for aiding with efforts to ensure the safety of clients, staff and community members.

“As someone who has worked with the leaders and staff at Auberle for years, I am grateful for being recognized for my work and trying to improve the quality of service.” Brewster said. “Our work is not finished by any means and we still must make critical investments of time and resources to help Auberle succeed.”

Auberle was opened in 1952. It provides assistance to at-risk children and families with residential care, emergency care, drug and alcohol, in-home services, education and mental health assistance among other programs. There are also community and preventative services offered.

Brewster has worked with leaders from the facility for years as mayor, member of council in McKeesport and as state senator. He serves as Democratic chair of the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee.
