Harrisburg – Feb. 26, 2014 – State Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny) said today that help completing Property Tax and Rent Rebate forms is available in any of his three local district offices.

“My staff is trained and prepared to help seniors file their Property Tax and Rent Rebate forms,” Brewster said. “I encourage all eligible seniors to take advantage of this vital program that provides a rebate on their paid property taxes or rent.”

The Property Tax and Rent Rebate program is administered through the state Department of Revenue and is available to eligible Pennsylvanians aged 65 or older and those who are at least 18 years of age who have a disability. For homeowners there is an income limit of $35,000 while the income limit for renters is $15,000 or less.

According to the Department of Revenue, the program has returned $4.8 billion in property taxes and rent rebates since it was established in 1971.

Brewster’s local district offices are located in Monroeville, McKeesport and New Kensington.
