Harrisburg, Dec. 13, 2013 – State Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland) said the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection awarded a grant to Allegheny County through the County Recycling Coordinator Grant Program.

“Recycling promotes better practices for the environment as well as economic growth,” said Brewster. “This grant will ease the financial burden on Allegheny County.”

The grant of more than $40,000 will go toward the cost of the county recycling coordinator’s salary and expenses.
